How To Transistion A Summer Dress To Fall

This light weight dress covered in a floral print screams summer but what happens when its fall and you still want to wear your favorite dress? There are a few options to turn your summer dresses into fall dresses.
Tucking your hair behind your ears is a great way to showcase your bold earrings.
I play close attention to the height of ankle booties. If they are too high I feel like my legs look too stumpy. That’s why I had to purchase these black booties during the Nordstrom sale. They are cut low  and show a little bit of skin to help elongate my legs.

The Breakdown:
In the heat of the summer I would wear this light weight summer dress with nude strappy sandals (like these or these). If it were a cool summer night I would add a white jacket (like this) or light colored denim jacket (like this). Now that we are in August it’s time to start thinking of transitioning our wardrobe. I wore the same summer dress but added a fall shoe, a la black bootie, and a clutch in a fall tone (I chose black but a berry colored clutch would have been super cute too, or a dusty rose). Fall evenings are usually chilly and I am always cold so I never leave the house without a jacket. I grabbed this military jacket to give my look a little grunge. I love the contrast of floral and patches. A cropped bomber jacket or classic leather jacket would look just as nice.

Happy transitioning!
