Embracing The Wind In The Big Apple

A few days ago I was in NYC and the winds were so high, over 40 mph. I was walking to meet my girlfriend and actually had to stop because the wind would blow my legs when I walked and I thought I was going to trip. That my sound dramatic but I’m not exaggerating. I was staying in lower Manhattan, where it’s always a little extra windy, and was walking to the 9/11 Memorial. I highly recommend visiting the 9/11 Memorial and Museum if you are in New York City.

The Breakdown:

While I was doing touristy things I wore this outfit but I had on these sneakers instead of these black booties. Apparently I like this shoe and sweater combo because I wore it here in this post too. Those sneakers are really comfortable but for the evening I wanted to wear something a little nicer but still easy to walk in so I put on the booties. A hat was a must since it was so windy, my hair would have been everywhere without it and my hair was curly so it would have been a tangled mess as well. I am in love with my new bag and want to wear it all the time. It was a surprise gift from my Mr.! This jacket is from last winter, it is very cute and warm but a little scratchy since its wool, the turtleneck helped with that. The hat and turtleneck really kept me warm against the wind.
